Interstate Engineering, a multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm, is seeking interns for summer positions in various locations. As an intern, you would experience the various parts of engineering from in the office to in the field and spanning numerous disciplines including transportation, structural, utility, water resources, and the like.
Assist engineering staff in providing on-site services for various projects. The position offers an in-field opportunity to work directly with engineers and technicians, bringing practical knowledge to life. Successful candidates will work under the direct supervision of project engineers and technicians and will have the opportunity to develop skills in report preparation, design, plans and specifications, construction observation, and construction administration, with an emphasis on personal/career development.
-Perform work assignments that involve typical and conventional solution methods and skills
-Perform limited design calculations, operate survey equipment, conduct material testing with supervision
-High school diploma
-Currently enrolled in an engineering program
-Willingness to travel as required
-1+ year towards a college degree
-3.0 GPA or higher
-Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
-Ability to walk rugged terrain for at least one mile
-Ability to operate vehicles
-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
-Willingness to work with people and independently as tasks require
