Bell Street Bridge Rehabilitation

Interstate Engineering prepared a planning document and detailed plans for the rehabilitation of the Bell Street Bridge over the Yellowstone River in Glendive, Montana. This 1,300-foot long bridge consists of six steel trusses spanning 212 feet each and cast-in-place concrete beam and slab approach spans. The bridge carries electrical transmission lines, a water main, and communications cables.

The rehabilitation work consisted of the following major items of work:  rehabilitation of expansion rockers, rehabilitation of pier caps, milling of the deck, rehabilitation of truss members, and rehabilitation of the pier stems below the water line, which included removing loose and deteriorated concrete and placing a reinforced concrete encasement over the base of the pier.
