ND 200 Improvements

Interstate Engineering was selected by the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) to perform construction engineering on ND State Highway 200, along the north side of the City of Hazen. The project consisted of grading, aggregate base, and hot bituminous paving on both the eastbound and westbound roadways for approximately 1.9 miles on this two-lane highway.

The project also included installation of turn lanes at three of the five intersections that serve the City of Hazen, upgrades to the pedestrian underpass, signing, lighting and the construction of shared use paths. A temporary bypass was put in place while the contractors poured the Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert. The shared use paths were relocated and reconstructed with ADA detectable warning panels. Traffic control for the overlay consisted of temporary road closures, flagging, and a pilot car.
