Pierre Flood Control

In 2011, record flooding of the Missouri River occurred in the Pierre, South Dakota area due to heavy rainfalls in the upper regions of the Missouri River drainages. Interstate Engineering assisted the City of Pierre with the construction of two dikes for the protection of homes in southeast Pierre from the Missouri River Flooding. The initial planning of the project began June 3, 2011 and the final completion date was June 9, 2011. Both dikes were holding back water by June 8th.

Interstate Engineering provided the topographic surveying, plan profiles of the levees, construction staking, site observation, and recordation of borrow quantities.
