What impact do you hope to make at Interstate Engineering?
I hope to help maximize the value of our planning services to our clients through strong partnerships and thoughtful community engagement.
Why did you choose the field you have chosen?
I spent time as an archaeologist in Alaska and became very interested in the village life of the communities I was living in and around. This interest grew from an academic in of rural development and a career as a town planner.

I am responsible for the first Complete Streets ordinance specific to an American Indian Reservation.
Tell us a bit about your family.
I live downtown Fargo with my fiancée Samantha and our little dog Frank.
When you aren’t working, where can you be found?
Since moving to North Dakota, I usually spend the weekend exploring new places with Sam and Frank! We love day trips and trying new foods. I also play guitar and sometimes I pretend to be a runner.
What inspires you?
Collaboration! That is perhaps the most exciting thing about being a town planner in the Northern Plains- people love their home and are willing to collaborate with neighbors to keep improving their communities.
What book do you recommend most?
Sizwe’s Test. The book is a window into the complexities of the African AIDS epidemic through the eyes of villagers and doctors in one of the poorest parts of South Africa.

I root hard for my alma mater, the Buffalo Bulls! Horns Up!
What was your last Netflix binge?
Atypical. Its a fantastic show about a college student with autism learn how to be true to himself
