Stapp Builds Up Red Lodge

Interstate Engineering is proud to announce and welcome Steve Stapp to the Red Lodge office. Stapp, a professional engineer and registered architect, specializes in structural engineering with a  focus on heavy industrial structural and civil engineering, building design, foundation design, and steel and concrete design.

Stapp, a graduate of the University of Wyoming, is a registered professional engineer in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, and Minnesota. He is also a Registered Architect in Washington.

Professional Side:

What impact do you hope to make at Interstate Engineering?

I hope to expand Interstate Engineering’s capabilities in regards to large civil projects and local client service.  

Why did you choose the field you have chosen?

I have always wanted to build and design. It is very rewarding to see a project go from design to completion and serve its function well.

What professional accomplishment or achievement are you most proud of?

  1. Design of a new Hrdocraker Unit in Great Falls, MT – Lead civil/structural engineer
  2. Design of a large crude railing unloading project in WA –  Lead civil/structural engineer

Enjoy each day and remain positive

Beyond Business:

Tell us a bit about your family.

I have a loving wife and 3 kids. My son and middle daughter are currently going to the University of Wyoming. My oldest daughter graduated from college three year ago and currently lives in Washington. My wife recently jointed the Interstate Engineering team as well. 

When you aren’t working, where can you be found?

Working on the house or cars. When I have no “to-do” list we go for hikes, target shooting or fishing. 

What inspires you?

My family and seeing our kids grow up.

What was your last Netflix binge?  

Better Call Saul

What is your favorite sports team?  

WWU women’s rowing team – my oldest was a captain of the team and she made All-American.
